Kastoria Environmental Education Centre
The Kastoria Environmental Education Centre was founded in 1996 by the Greek Ministry of Education, and is one of the oldest and most successful organisations of its kind. It implements a series of educational programmes and promotes sustainable initiatives locally, regionally and across the country, aiming to raise awareness among students and educators about environmental issues. More than 3,500 participants attend the Centre’s activities every year. It also organises environmental excursions all over Greece and coordinates two national environmental education networks, focusing on Lakes and Biodiversity, with the participation of 800 schools.
